We try really hard to eat healthy around here. While we have pizza and eat out on occasion, it's pretty normal for our family to cook all three meals each day. But that doesn't mean our kids don't have a sweet tooth. So here is our take on a healthy summer treat for kids.

I am obsessed with Against All Grains, and anything Danielle Walker is cooking up in the kitchen. A ton of our meals come from one of her cookbooks theses days. But one of my absolute favorite things in the book is her Chocolate Avocado Smoothie! It's creamy. It's filling, and it's just the right amount of sweet for me. I use it a lot post-workout (with a touch of protein powder in it), but yesterday morning I made it as a quick fix as I ran out the door to coach. We had extra and I wasn't sure what to do with it....until I remembered the Popsicle forms I bought at Michael's a while back.
AND....BINGO!! We had healthy fudge pops!

The sugar content is super low for a sweet treat. It contains 1 banana for the whole smoothie, and a bit of honey. The rest is cocoa powder, almond butter, almond milk (we subbed coconut milk) and flax seed oil. It took me 5 minutes to make this and 1-2 hours for it to freeze. DONE!
As you can tell, the kids loved it (and Bubba loves his sister even more)! Overall they were a win for our family.
